‘Midnight Driving’ is the latest single from Teenage Dads, a fast-rising Melbourne-based four-piece. The track is centred on a thick, textured bass line over which glittery guitar chords add texture, and ethereal synths transport us into a new sonic dimension. The track’s effortless hooks show just why this has been a favourite at the band’s live shows for quite some time. The track is, as the band explain, about “coming to an understanding that a relationship is on its way out. Maybe you don’t want it to end, maybe you do. Depends on which seat you’re in. Are you in the passenger seat begging to go for another drive? Or are you the driver ready to speed off into the night?.” The band are touring the UK in May and will release their new EP, Midnight Driving, on March 3rd, 2023. -Dan Peeke.
